"Ministry Days" is an annual diocesan gathering for the clergy, religious, and lay leaders of our diocese to come together for prayer, sharing, learning, and planning relating to our common mission and ministry here in southern Minnesota. Held in the early summer each year, this gathering also provides professional in-service and enrichment opportunities for these ministers and leaders.
Ministry Days 2017 will be held on Thursday, June 8 - Friday, June 9, at Saint Mary's University in Winona. The theme for this year's gathering is: “Go, and Make Disciples ~ Forming Missionary Disciples for Gospel Witness.” Pope Francis challenges us as Catholics to “go forth” and as “a community of missionary disciples … [to] move forward, boldly take the initiative, go out to others, seek those who have fallen away, stand at the crossroads and welcome the outcast” (Evangelii Gaudium, #24).
This year’s keynote presenters are:
- Leisa Anslinger serves as the Director of Catholic Life and Faith, “a pastoral resource center supporting parish and diocesan evangelization and stewardship leaders.” Leisa brings extensive experience in Catholic parishes and schools to her ministry as an author and speaker. She is the author of books for pastoral leaders and numerous e-resources on catechesis and stewardship, and is a frequent presenter on evangelization, stewardship, and catechesis at national and diocesan gatherings. Leisa will speak on our theme, “Forming Missionary Disciples for Gospel Witness.”
- Adam Janke is the Program Director for St. Paul Street Evangelization (SPSE) – “a grassroots, non-profit Catholic evangelization organization” – and develops many of the programs and resources available for SPSE teams and other Catholics that want to be part of the Catholic Church’s evangelical mission. He also travels across the country offering workshops and talks on how to put the New Evangelization into practice in our everyday lives bringing with him the experiences and stories of the thousands of evangelists that work with SPSE. Adam will speak on, “Effective Tools for Parish and Diocesan Evangelization.”
