The Roman Catholic Diocese of Winona-Rochester is currently seeking a Director of Communications.  Based out of the Diocesan Pastoral Center in Winona, Minnesota, this position will develop, facilitate and direct a broad range of communication and promotional activities through the creative use of communication and information technology, including but not limited to; print, multi-media, web and social media.  Inherent in the position are responsibilities related to the coordination of press releases, press conferences, serving as the spokesperson for the Diocesan Bishop and the Diocese of Winona-Rochester. The selected candidate will have the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, be an effective, articulate communicator, high skilled at multi-tasking, adaptable to change, effective at interfacing with a diverse group of internal customers and external contacts, an exceptional planner and organizer and be a practicing Roman Catholic. Candidates typically have a Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communications, Journalism or similar (Master’s preferred) and a minimum of 5 years proven working knowledge and success in a similar leadership role, including the supervision of staff.

The Diocese of Winona-Rochester encompasses the 20 southernmost counties of the state of Minnesota and covers 12,282 square miles -- bordered by the Mississippi River to the east and the Dakotas to the west. The diocese has nearly 2000 full and part-time employees working within its parishes, schools and institutions.
