Saint Mary’s Catholic School is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as principal beginning July 1, 2017.
School Description:
Saint Mary’s provides an education in the Catholic faith and academics to form future leaders and prepare children for a life that makes God known, loved, and served. Saint Mary’s Catholic School currently enrolls over 360 students in its preschool through 8th grade programs. We are located in Owatonna, MN, which is a vibrant and growing community of over 25,000. Saint Mary’s is supported by the parishes of Sacred Heart and Saint Joseph in addition to excellent teachers, devoted parents, proud alumni, and dedicated community supporters.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to providing a Catholic education of the highest quality, serving the school’s mission of partnering with families to develop a student’s full potential in mind, body, and spirit through Catholic values. The new principal will focus on achieving all-inclusive distinction in the following key areas of schooling: Mission & Catholic Identity, Academic Excellence, Governance & Leadership, and Operational Vitality. The successful candidate must have a clear vision of and dedication to the values and philosophy of Catholic education. Candidates will possess strong business/financial management skills, curricular insights, and maintain working relationships with stakeholders to ensure the long-term sustainability of the school.
The candidate must demonstrate effective communication skills that develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and community member though all programs and activities.
Educational Requirements:
The candidate must obtain a Master’s degree in education (curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or school administration) from an accredited institution and an administrative license or enrolled in a principal licensure program. Teaching and administrative experience preferred. The candidate shall be Roman or Eastern Rite Catholic in full communion with the Church.
